Our Story
Ihit le Ihitoch was set up organically when the need to support survivors increased over time. Since 2018, the founder has been contacted by different habesha women who had been affected by violence against women, particularly domestic abuse. With the support of her friends, especially Hermela Chassme, Tirhas Mebrahtu and Wossenyelesh Kifle, she used her humble knowledge and a lot of research to provide the women with advice and an active listening support. Whilst the one-to-one advice and support continues, it was obvious that the group's 'sisters to sisters' support was crucial. Hence, we set up the bi-weekly online women's support group in 2021. The group is going from strength to strength. We now have a small group of dedicated members.
እህት ለእህቶች የሀበሻ ሴቶች ማህበር በሴቶች ደህንነት እና መብት ላይ ባለሙያ የእንግሊዝ አገር ነዋሪ የሆኑ በኢትዮጵያዊ ሴቶች ነው። ከ2018 ጀምሮ የማህበሩ መስራችዋ ከባልደረቦችዋ በተለይም ከሄርሜላ እና ከወሰንየለሽ በምታገኘው ድጋፍ በቤት ውስጥ ጥቃትና በደል የደረሰባቸው ብዙ ሀበሻ ሴቶች ሲቀርብዋት በምታውቀው ትንሽ እውቀት እና ምርምር በማድረግ በተለይ ደግሞ የልባቸውን በጥሞና ማዳመጥ እገዛዋን ቀጠላለች። ከአንድ በአንድ እገዛው በተጨማሪ እህቶቻችን እርስ በርስ መመካከራቸው እጅግ በጣም አስፈላጊ መሆኑ ግልፅ በመሆኑ ምክንያት ከ2021 ጀምሮ በየአስራምስት ቀን በዙም እየተገናኘን የተለያዩ ውይይቶችን ማድረጉን ቀጥለናል; ስለዚህም ብዙዎቹ አባላት ለማህበሩ የተጉ ናቸው።
Our Expertise
Ihit le Ihitoch Habesha Women's Group was formed by Ethiopian women professionals for Ethiopian and Eritrean women based in the UK but we provide awareness-raising sessions to our sisters globally. We have a combined experience of twenty years of working in the VAWG sector both in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa. The directors have a track record of providing quality advice and support for their fellow women voluntarily. Ihit le Ihitoch Habesha Women's Support Group members who are survivors of VAWG continue to support each other and refer their sisters for help to the group.
እህት ለእህቶች የሀበሻ ሴቶች መረዳጃ ማህበር የተቋቋመው በሴቶች ጉዳይ ዘርፍ ላይ ለብዙ አመታት ያገለገሉ ሴቶች በበጎ ፈቃደኝነት እህቶቻቸውን ለማገዝ የተቋቋመ ነው። ከዛም በተጨማሪ በአለም አቀፍ ለሚገኙ እህቶቻችን ስለሴቶች ጥቃት እውቀት የሚያሳድጉ ስልጠናዎች እናቀርባለን። አደራጆቹ በአጠቃላይ ከሀያ አመታት በላይ ልምድ አላቸው ስለዚህም ጥሩና ውጤታማ የሆነ ምክርና አገልግሎት መስጠታቸውን ቀጥለዋል። የማህበሩ አባላቶች እርስ በርስ መረዳዳት እና ሎሎች እገዛ የሚያስፈልጋቸውን እህቶቻችንን ወደ ማህበሩ በማምጣት ይተጋሉ።
Our Approach
At Ihit le Ihitoch Habesha Women's Support Group, we believe that the voices of our members - who are survivors of VAWG, particularly domestic abuse - are at the centre of our mission. We work closely with each member to understand her unique needs and goals, and provide personalised advice and support. We also work closely with partner organisations, IDVAs and support workers who provide support to our members to improve the quality of service provided to them.
እህት ለእህቶች መረዳጃ ማህበር ማንኛውንም ውሳኔ የአባላቶቹን በተለይም የቤት ውስጥ ጥቃት ተሞክሮ ያላቸውን ሴቶች ድምፅ ማጉላት እና የነሱን ሀሳብና ፍላጎት መሰርት በማደረግ ይወስናል። ከሌሎች አጋር ድርጅቶች ጋርም በመተባበር ለአባላቶቹ የሚያስፈልጋቸውን እገዛ ያቀርባል። ከአጋዥ ድርጅቶች ጋርም ጥሩ ግንኙነት በመፍጠር ለአባሎቻችን የተመቻቸ ሁኔታ እንዲያገኝ እናደርጋለን።
