Our Aims and Activities
Our main aims are:
To increase knowledge about women's health and rights.
Activities:
1.1. Providing awareness raising training on understanding domestic violence, healthy relationships, personal rights and entitlements. Using our regular Zoom meetings, we provide various educational discussions prioritised by members' needs.
1.2. Delivering training to community centres, places of worship, social media groups, etc. in understanding VAWG, particularly domestic abuse.
1.3. Providing support and advice to community centres in handling domestic abuse cases in a safe and survivor-centred manner.
To build the survivors' and their children's confidence and life skills.
Activities:
2.1. Setting up and run flexible online English classes tailored to our members' needs that enable them to communicate and integrate within their community.
2.2. Facilitating parenting classes to establish good parenting practices to enable their children's wellbeing; support mothers to develop peer to peer relationships and social structures.
2.3. Organising confidence building training sessions for survivors to help them cope with their trauma.
To enable women to raise their voices to advocate for themselves and their children.
Activities:
3.1. Providing advice and support for our members - survivors of VAWG.
3.2. Assisting members to ensure smooth communication with their support workers, IDVAs, Social workers and other professionals
3.3. Facilitating focus group discussions and consultations to inform academic researchers, policy makers and the VAWG sector
